Cone Crusher Bearings: The Components the Whole Machine Runs On

Every rotating and gyrating surface in a cone crusher runs on a bearing — the countershaft in its box, the main shaft on its support bearings, the eccentric on its oil film. We supply bearing components across the cone crusher catalogue, identified by crusher model and original part number. Bearings are general catalogue lines, with one recorded exception, stated plainly here: the top bearing, recorded against the GP220 only — not recorded against the HP sizes, Symons, any other Metso-family size or the Sandvik family; every other bearing line is a general line, not recorded against the HP sizes, the GP series, Symons, any other Metso-family size or the Sandvik family.

Where bearings work in a cone crusher

A cone crusher carries its loads on a small set of bearing positions, and each one has a distinct job. The countershaft runs in bearings inside its countershaft box, carrying the pinion that drives the gear train. The main shaft is located by its support and thrust bearing arrangements, which hold the head's position against the crushing load. And the eccentric bushing works as the machine's great plain bearing — the oil-film surface on which the gyratory motion itself runs. Bearing condition across these positions decides oil temperature, vibration behaviour and, in the end, the life of the shafts and head the bearings serve: a bearing is a small part whose failure is never small.

The recorded position, stated plainly

Bearings in this catalogue are general lines, with exactly one recorded exception, carved out in this paragraph itself. The general bearing lines are supplied against the crusher model and the original part number, and are not recorded against the HP sizes, the GP series — the GP220 top bearing excepted — Symons, any other Metso-family size or the Sandvik family. The exception is this: the catalogue lists a replacement top bearing for the GP220 — the top bearing is recorded against the GP220 only, and it is not recorded against the HP sizes, Symons, any other Metso-family size or the Sandvik family. That single record belongs to the GP-series programme set out on the GP cone crusher parts page; it does not extend to any other bearing, and no other bearing should be ordered as if it did.

Reading bearing condition before it reads you

Bearings announce their decline through the oil and through behaviour: a slow rise in oil temperature at constant duty, a change in the quantity or character of debris in the return oil and filters, new vibration, or a changed note under load. The disciplined responses are cheap ones — trend the temperature, read the filters at every service, and check bearing condition directly whenever the crusher is open for a liner change, when access costs almost nothing. The pairing discipline matters too: a bearing run to failure scores the journal it serves, converting a bearing replacement into a shaft-and-bearing rebuild, so bearing and main shaft decisions are made together, from measurements, rather than one part at a time.

Supply and ordering

Bearing components are identified by crusher model and original part number, with the bearing specification for your machine confirmed in the quotation rather than assumed from a generic size. Minimum order is 1 piece, confirmed with your quotation; stock is checked against daily-updated inventory, and machined-to-order components carry their production lead time on the quote. The practical way to order bearings is as part of the job kit they belong to — the seals and filters the work will disturb travel in the same shipment. The seals and filters named in this paragraph are general catalogue lines, not recorded against the HP sizes, the GP series, Symons, the Metso family or the Sandvik family. Shipment on FOB, EXW, CIF or FCA terms; payment by T/T or L/C. Certificates available upon request.

Identify your bearing by model and original part number

State the bearing position — countershaft, main shaft support or thrust — with the crusher model and the original part number; the bearing specification for your machine is then confirmed in the quotation rather than assumed from a generic size. Minimum order is 1 piece, confirmed with your quotation, as is the lead time (typically within 15 workdays in peak season and about one month in the off-season).
