Cone Crusher Frames: Main Frames and Upper Frames

The frame is the structure every crushing load passes through on its way to the foundation. We supply cone crusher frame components — main frame assemblies and upper frames. Three frame lines stand on record: main frame assemblies against the HP200 and a main frame line for the HP6 — neither HP line recorded against the GP series — and the upper frame against the GP220 only, not recorded against the HP sizes; no frame line is recorded against Symons, any other Metso-family size or the Sandvik family. Frame supply beyond them is confirmed against the crusher model and original part number.

Main frame and upper frame: two different structures

The two frame components this page covers do different work. The main frame is the base structure: it carries the eccentric assembly and the main shaft, absorbs the crushing load the chamber generates, and passes that load to the foundation. The upper frame sits above it on the designs that use one, carrying the bowl-side components and the feed arrangement into the chamber. Both are load-path structures with precision registers — the seats and faces that locate the assemblies they carry — which is why frame condition is structural condition: a worn or damaged register quietly misaligns everything mounted on it, and frame cracks are load-path information that deserves engineering assessment, not cosmetic welding.

The three recorded frame lines

The catalogue records frame lines against three sizes, and only those three. The main frame assembly for the HP200 is a listed line — recorded against the HP200 only — and the catalogue records its process: it is a casting line. A main frame line for the HP6 is likewise listed — recorded against the HP6 only — and is likewise recorded as a casting line. Neither HP main frame line is recorded against the GP series, Symons, any other Metso-family size or the Sandvik family. The third recorded line is the upper frame for the GP220 — recorded against the GP220 only, as part of the GP-series record set out on the GP cone crusher parts page; the GP220 upper frame is not recorded against the HP sizes, Symons, any other Metso-family size or the Sandvik family, and its catalogue entry records no manufacturing process, so none is claimed for it here. No other frame line is recorded against any size in the catalogue.

Frame damage and the repair route

Frames come to attention through events, not wear schedules: a main shaft fracture that loads the frame past its design case, a severe tramp incident, or cracking found at a register during a rebuild. Our published service record includes main frame repair on an HP500 carried out following a main shaft fracture — a service record, evidencing repair work on that machine; it is not a frame supply record, and no frame line is recorded against the HP500. Frame supply for a machine outside the three recorded lines is handled the way the rest of the spare parts programme handles unrecorded lines: identified against the crusher model, the original part number or a dimensioned drawing, and quoted on that basis — or assessed for repair by the repair services team where the structure honestly allows it.

Ordering frames and frame assemblies

Identify the frame component by crusher model and original part number; for older machines, dimensions and photographs of the registers and mounting faces provide the working identification route. Minimum order is 1 piece, confirmed with your quotation, as is the lead time — the recorded HP200 and HP6 frame lines are casting lines, and cast-to-order lines carry their production time on the quote. Shipment on FOB, EXW, CIF or FCA terms; payment by T/T or L/C. Certificates available upon request. If the frame job is part of a wider rebuild, list the assemblies it carries on the same enquiry and the whole structure is quoted together, line by line.

Identify the frame by model, part number or drawing

Give the crusher model and the original part number; for older machines, dimensions and photographs of the registers and mounting faces provide the working identification route. Minimum order is 1 piece, confirmed with your quotation, as is the lead time (typically within 15 workdays in peak season and about one month in the off-season).
