Mechanical Spares — Cone Crushers

Cone Crusher Eccentric Bushing: Small Clearances, Large Consequences

The eccentric bushing converts the countershaft's rotation into the head's gyratory motion — and it does so as a bearing, under full crushing load. We supply eccentric bushings and related bearing components for cone crushers, matched by model and part number. Eccentric bushings and the related bearing components are general catalogue lines — not recorded against the HP sizes, the GP series, Symons, the Metso family or the Sandvik family; the one bearing line on record in the catalogue, the GP220 top bearing, is not one of these related components.

What the eccentric bushing does

Inside the crusher, the drive turns the eccentric assembly; the eccentric bushing's offset bore makes the main shaft and head gyrate rather than simply spin. That gyration is the crushing stroke. The bushing is therefore both a motion component and one of the most heavily loaded bearings in the machine, running in the oil film between itself, the eccentric and the shaft. Its material, bore condition and running clearance decide oil temperature, vibration behaviour and — ultimately — the life of the shaft and head it serves.

Failure signs and what they mean

A bushing announces its decline indirectly: oil temperature creeping up at the same duty, metallic particles in the return oil or filter, a change in the crusher's sound under load, or scoring visible on the shaft journal at inspection. None of these should be waited out. A bushing run to failure takes the shaft surface with it, converting a bearing replacement into a shaft-and-bearing rebuild — the pairing we flag on the main shaft page. At every planned liner change, the bushing's condition check is cheap; between changes, oil condition is the window into it.

Supply and fit

Eccentric bushings are supplied as catalogue spare parts — the component appears across our cone crusher listings alongside bearings, sockets and seals — identified by crusher model and original part number. Because clearances are the product, the quotation confirms the bushing specification for your machine rather than a generic size. Where the shaft journal is worn or scored, say so on the enquiry: bushing and shaft decisions interact, and the honest sequence may be to measure first and order second. Eccentric bushings, bearings other than the recorded GP220 top bearing, other bushing components, sockets and seals are general catalogue lines — none of them is recorded against the HP sizes, the GP series, Symons, the Metso family or the Sandvik family; for a specific machine they are confirmed against the model and original part number when quoted, under the same compatible-parts discipline as the rest of the programme.

Ordering

Minimum order 1 piece, confirmed with your quotation. Stock lines are confirmed against daily-checked inventory at quotation; machined-to-order bushings carry their production lead time on the quote. Shipment on FOB, EXW, CIF or FCA terms; payment by T/T or L/C. Practical tip for the order: include the seals and filters the bushing job will disturb — they are catalogue lines too, and a shutdown kit that arrives complete is the difference between a one-shift job and a two-day one. The seals and filters named in this paragraph are general catalogue lines — not recorded against the HP sizes, the GP series, Symons, the Metso family or the Sandvik family.

Oil: the bushing's daily report

Between inspections, the lubricating oil is the only witness to the eccentric bushing's condition, and it reports faithfully for anyone who reads it. Temperature is the first channel: a bushing in good order holds a stable oil temperature at a given duty, so a slow upward trend at constant load is information, not weather. Debris is the second channel: the return-oil strainer and filters collect what the bearing surfaces shed, and a change in the quantity or character of that debris precedes measurable damage. The third channel is behaviour — new vibration, a changed note under load, setting instability — which usually confirms what the first two channels already said. Plants that log these three readings catch bushing wear at the bushing's price. Plants that do not meet it later at the shaft's price as well. Bushing enquiries to this programme are welcome to include the oil story; it sharpens the specification and the advice that travels with the part.

Send us your part number or drawing

Quotes are prepared against your model, part number or dimension drawing. Minimum order is 1 piece on most catalogue parts — like the current lead time, it is confirmed with your quotation (typically within 15 workdays in peak season and about one month in the off-season).
